Atty. Leo has been engaged in active law practice for more than 30 years. Prior to putting up the MENDOZA ARZAGA-MENDOZA LAW FIRM, he was the counsel for a University /Hospital, then joined a law firm in the Metro Manila area where he was the Managing/Supervising Attorney.
He was a consultant for a local government unit (City) and has practiced extensively in public law in both the courts of law and in administrative bodies and tribunals. The various issues presented included municipal taxation, boundary disputes between cities and municipalities, real property taxation, and judicial and administrative remedies for the collection of taxes.
His other areas of practice include criminal and civil litigation, immigration and deportation proceedings, appellate practice in both the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court, Estate and partition proceedings, Land registration and Agrarian Law practice.
Atty. Mendoza heads the criminal law division as well as immigration division of the MENDOZA ARZAGA-MENDOZA LAW FIRM having successfully litigated and obtained favorable outcome in numerous criminal and civil cases. In the field of immigration law practice, he has handled immigration matters for the past 30 years now.
Atty. Mendoza also possesses exposure to International Law, having worked in a law firm in Beverly Hills, California, U.S.A.
At MENDOZA ARZAGA-MENDOZA LAW FIRM, he handles cases brought before International Arbitration Boards and has appeared in the following countries: Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand, Korea, Russia and the Peoples' Republic of China.*
Atty. Ma. Luz (Marilu) S. Arzaga-Mendoza
Atty Marilu is the Senior and Managing Partner of the MENDOZA ARZAGA-MENDOZA LAW FIRM.
Educated in the Philippines, Marilu, as she is called by friends and clients, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. She was admitted as an entrance scholar to law school and graduated from the University of the Philippines College of Law in 1980. Upon being called to the Philippine Bar in 1981 , Marilu joined a law firm specializing in Banking and Corporate law.
In 1982, Marilu established her own law practice, in partnership with her husband, Atty. Leo Luis P. Mendoza, and has since represented numerous high profile cases in the fields of civil, criminal. corporate litigation, and Sports law practices. She appears in the lower court, as well as the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the Philippines. Marilu went on to post graduate studies in the United States and she worked for a law firm in Beverly Hills, California, U.S.A.
Marilu also practices election law where she serves as counsel for numerous political candidates both in national and local posts.
Marilu taught Corporation Law in a College of Law.
Marilu excelled in scholastic achievements as well as in the field of sports. She is a consistent honor student and a recipient of several prestigious leadership and scholastic awards, such as the Gerry Roxas leadership award, ASPAC scholar, U.P. College of Law entrance scholar, and other awards. In the field of sports, she held the Philippine record in the 100 meters back stroke as well as the 200 meters back stroke. She has represented the Republic of the Philippines in the Asian Games (Bangkok, Thailand), the Pesta Sukan Games (Singapore) and other international swimming events. She also represented the Philippines as an Ambassador of Goodwill in the 1972 Youth Camp in Munich, Germany. In line with this, she is counsel for several sports organizations in the Philipppines, in Asia and in International Organizations and has represented clients in International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution procedures in Singapore, Switzerland, Russia, Korea, Thailand, and the Peoples' Republic of China.
Atty. Jonathan A. De Guzman
Atty. Jonathan joined the MENDOZA ARZAGA-MENDOZA LAW FIRM in 1999. An aggressive and fearless litigator, Atty. Jonathan De Guzman has practised extensively in the areas of criminal law defense, civil law and contracts litigation, labor laws and special proceedings.
Atty. Jonathan A. De Guzman possesses patriotic and nationalistic fervor and adheres to the principle of fair play and equal justice to all, specially the poor and the marginalized sectors of society, by dispensing justice regardless of race, color, creed, or status in life. He is a firm believer that GOD is the ultimate dispenser of justice.
Atty. De Guzman is a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines. He is also an active and dedicated member of the Alpha Phi Omega (APO) International since 1989.
Prior to taking up law, Atty. De Guzman completed a Bachelor’s Degree, with a major study in psychology.
